Open ground needs a big shape. An elephant at 48 or 60 in, a 60 in cow or moose, or a giraffe that runs to 14 ft holds its own at the end of a lawn or beside a drive. These are quoted, and the price comes back with freight delivery included.

How much care a moss topiary needs
Water when the moss feels dry, then let it drain. Do not let it sit in water. In summer sun that can mean every day or two.
You can also plant into it. Rooted creeping fig or small-leaved ivy pushed through the moss can cover a piece in under three months. Creeping fig survives winter outdoors only in zones 8 to 11, and English ivy cannot be sold in Oregon or Washington. Wear gloves when you handle sphagnum. Can mossed animals live outdoors?
Yes. The galvanized frame can stay outdoors all year. The moss is the part to watch: it needs water whenever it feels dry, and good drainage underneath, because standing water is what kills a mossed piece. In full summer sun, check it every day or two.
How do I keep the moss on a topiary green?
Soak it when it feels dry, then let it drain. Within about six months, plant into it; otherwise, press fresh sphagnum into the thin places once or twice a year. The sphagnum care guide shows how to bring back a piece that has browned.
Can I order an ivy-covered animal instead of moss?
Yes. Sphagnum moss is the standard finish, and ivy-covered pieces can be ordered as an option. You can also plant a mossed animal yourself: creeping fig and small-leaved ivy root into the moss, and the piece keeps its shape while the planting fills in.

Can I get a topiary animal delivered near me?
Yes, anywhere in the US or Canada. Smaller animals ship by UPS or FedEx, and large ones go by freight, quoted with delivery. If a shipment arrives damaged, refuse it. Returns are accepted for 15 days after delivery.
