Turf Topiary Sculptures and Dinosaurs
Turf topiary sculptures bring giant animals and dinosaurs to places where a plant would never survive: a play area, a hotel entrance, a mini golf course or a garden that needs a landmark. Each is a fiberglass shell covered in artificial turf. It keeps its shape with no trimming or watering. Tell us where it will stand and we will help you choose the size and plan the freight delivery.

Why choose turf topiary sculptures
Turf topiary gives you the look of a clipped hedge animal in a form that does not grow, so the shape you buy is the shape you keep. It is also big. Many pieces here are dinosaurs taller than a person, and size and placement matter more than anything else. The rows below deal with both, plus how turf behaves in hot sun.
Dinosaur topiary for parks and garden trails
A dinosaur is a landmark people walk toward. Parks, mini golf courses, garden trails and venue entrances buy them for exactly that. The range covers T-Rex, triceratops, stegosaurus, pterodactyl and long-necked dinosaurs.
Check the footprint before the height. The 8.7 ft stegosaurus is far longer than it is tall, and the tail needs clear space around it. The dinosaur topiary page collects every dinosaur on the site.
Choosing a T-Rex topiary
The T-Rex is the best known of them. The smallest here is 4.92 ft tall, low enough for a mini golf hole or a school garden. The largest stands 11.81 ft and needs open ground and a view from a distance.
A large sculpture in the open catches wind. Plan how it will be anchored. For a permanent install at a business, the anchoring may need an engineer's sign-off. Tell us about the site and we will help you choose the size.
Turf gets hot in direct sun
Artificial turf holds heat. It has been measured 35 to 85 degrees F hotter than natural grass, so a sculpture in full summer sun can be too hot to touch. Where children play, a spot with afternoon shade is the better choice.
Shade also helps the color, because direct sun fades any artificial surface over time. Keep the piece clear of glare reflected from south-facing low-E windows, which has been known to shrink or melt turf fibers. These pieces are not built for climbing.
Turf animals beyond dinosaurs
Not every piece is prehistoric. The range also has gorillas at 6.07 ft, a panda holding its baby, a black swan, a black elephant and a 4.1 ft black dog, plus an iguana chair and a grand piano with bench.
Most are fiberglass shells covered in artificial turf, and all travel by freight, quoted with delivery. Want a shape that is not listed? Send a reference photo and the height, and we will tell you what can be supplied. Dogs in every finish are on the dog topiary page.
Questions about Sculpture, Turf & Dinosaurs
What is turf topiary made of?
A multilayer fiberglass shell covered in artificial turf. There are no live plants in it, so there is no watering or trimming. What a dinosaur topiary is made of compares it with mossed and wire frame pieces.
How much does a dinosaur topiary cost?
From $6,400 for a 4.92 ft T-Rex, up to $37,200 for the biggest pieces. Every sculpture is quoted with freight delivery included. For how these prices compare with the rest of the site, see what topiary actually costs.
Does turf topiary need any upkeep?
Very little. Hose it down when it gets dusty. There is no watering, trimming or seasonal work. Direct sun fades any artificial surface over time, so some shade helps it keep its color.
Is a turf sculpture safe around children and pets?
Check it on hot days. Artificial turf holds solar heat and has been measured 35 to 85 degrees F hotter than natural grass, so a sculpture in full summer sun can be hot to the touch. The pieces are also not built for climbing.
Can I order a different dinosaur or size?
Often, yes. Send a reference photo and the height you need, and we will tell you what can be supplied and what it costs. For a shape built to your drawing, see custom-made topiary.
How is a large turf sculpture delivered?
By freight, braced upright on a pallet or in a crate, and the carrier calls ahead. Look it over before you sign and write any damage on the delivery receipt. If it arrives damaged, refuse it.
Do you ship turf sculptures to Canada?
Yes. We ship across the US and Canada. Sculptures this size go by freight, and the quote you approve includes delivery. Returns are accepted for 15 days after delivery.
