Spiral Topiary

Home » Artificial Boxwood Plants & Faux Topiary Trees Outdoor » Spiral Topiary

The corkscrew, without the years of cutting.

A live spiral takes years of hand-shaping; the artificial version delivers the silhouette on day one and holds it in full sun where a live plant would demand water and shears. UV-rated foliage over a welded steel core keeps the groove crisp season after season.

Spirals belong at entrances — one either side of a door adds height and formality no other shape matches.

Why is the spiral the entrance shape?

Height, formality and motion in one silhouette. A matched pair either side of a door does what columns do for architecture — and the artificial version delivers it the day the boxes open, in full sun, over gravel, beside a driveway that bakes all afternoon.

How is an artificial spiral built?

The groove is a welded steel core, not trained foliage — the shape you buy is permanent. Over it, UV-rated foliage with stabilizers compounded into the resin keeps color through the seasons; the material’s lab numbers are on the Polyblend page.

Artificial or live spiral?

If the spot has sun, water and a patient hand, the living spiral rewards it — a real plant, cut by hand over years. Everywhere else, this shelf holds the silhouette for free. Care here is a rinse when dusty, and nothing more.

How do you place a spiral pair well?

Symmetry first: matched pots, equal distance from the door, bases level even if the ground is not. Height second: the spiral tips should sit near the door’s midpoint or above — undersized spirals read as shrubs, not columns. And light them from below if you light them at all; an up-light catches the groove and doubles the shape after dark, which is the whole reason the silhouette exists.

Questions about artificial spirals

Artificial or live spiral — how do I choose?

Sun, water and patience decide. A bright spot with a waterer deserves the living plant; everywhere else, the artificial spiral holds the same silhouette for free.

Will the spiral shape sag over time?

No — the shape is a welded steel core, not trained foliage. The groove you buy is the groove you keep.
