A turtle topiary is a low, broad piece built on welded galvanized wire — the shell does the work and the head and feet finish it. At five to twelve inches ours start around $57, and they suit a step, a border edge, a pond surround or a planter. They come mossed and ready to stand, or as a bare frame to stuff or plant with creeping fig.

How it is finished
The same turtle, four ways.
Every piece starts as the same welded, galvanized steel frame. What goes over it is the choice.
The cheapest piece we make, and the reason why.
A turtle is low, broad and symmetrical, with no limb sticking out far enough to need bracing and no thin section to lose. That makes it quick to bend, quick to weld and quick to pack — which is why a turtle costs less than an animal of the same height with legs and a neck to brace, rather than because anything is cut short.
It is also the shape that survives being moved around. A turtle can sit on a step, a border edge, a pond surround or a planter and be relocated with one hand, which is how most of them are actually used.

What it needs once it is standing.
A mossed piece wants misting through dry spells and a refresh of the moss every year or so. A bare frame wants nothing at all until you decide to plant it. Turf and artificial pieces want an occasional rinse and no more — no watering, no trimming, no seasonal work.
The steel underneath is the part that decides how long the piece lasts, and galvanized steel outdoors is measured in decades rather than seasons.

How much does a turtle topiary cost?
They start around $57 for a frame. Current prices are on the listings above — a bare frame always costs less than a mossed one, because packing the moss is the slow part.
Frame or mossed?
A mossed turtle is green from the day it arrives. A frame is for planting with creeping fig or ivy, or for stuffing yourself.
Can it live outdoors?
A wire frame can. A mossed turtle is better under cover, or in a spot that does not take full afternoon sun and driving rain.
Is it heavy?
No — at this size a turtle is easily moved by one person, which is why they are often bought in pairs or groups.
Can you make a large one?
Yes. Scale is a commission question; send the size and the setting.
