Nearly as wide as it is tall, at 39.5 by 39 inches, with the shoulders drawn in to a 21 inch mouth. That gap between body and opening is what makes it a jar rather than a pot: the plant sits above a broad curved body instead of in a straight-sided box.
A 21 inch mouth suits a piece up to roughly four and a half feet, which covers most single-ball and spiral forms. Because the body is so much wider than the opening it holds a great deal of soil for its mouth, and it carries enough presence not to need a second planter beside it. A published mouth is rare in this trade, and measuring an opening against a root ball is why it matters.
