A single mound of preserved Monterey juniper, shaped and then held at the point it was cut, standing about 12 to 14 inches tall and the same across. The planter is black, 8 inches wide and 2 inches deep, with natural gravel and soft mood moss worked in around the base.
At this size it belongs on a desk, a shelf or a side table rather than on the floor. Everything is set firmly into the planter, so it can be carried from one room to another without the gravel shifting.
The foliage is a real plant that was preserved rather than dried, which is why it keeps the color and the give of fresh juniper instead of going brittle. It takes no water, no light and no pruning. Dust it occasionally. That is the whole of the care.
