A preserved bonsai at floor scale: 6 feet tall and 38 to 45 inches wide, built from preserved green mound juniper mounted on California grape wood. It comes in a zinc bronze container, or in a grower’s pot if you have a container of your own to plant it into.
At six feet this is a room piece rather than a table piece. It holds an entrance hall, a stair landing or a lobby corner on its own, and it carries from across the space in a way a tabletop bonsai cannot.
The juniper was grown and manicured as a live plant, then preserved, so it keeps its color and texture with no watering, feeding or light. The grape wood forms the trunk and the main limbs, and because that wood grows into its shape rather than being cut to one, the line of every tree is different.
