A bumble bee topiary starts as steel wire: a segmented body and two open wings, bent and welded in the workshop before any moss or planting goes near it. The gallery shows both ends of that. Bare frames standing out on the grass, and one bee grown in green so only the wings stay open metalwork.
Every bee sits on a pole rather than on the ground, so the body reads as hovering above the planting. The pole drops into a square steel foot or straight into the soil, staked or set in cement, and a firm shake tells you whether it will lean.

Bare, the steel wants nothing more than an occasional wash with mild soap and water. Mossed and planted, treat it as a container: keep the moss damp while the plants root, and check the frame for damage after hard weather.
