A pair of oversized garden scissors, built as a wire frame and finished in sphagnum moss, standing about 36 inches tall on a 12-inch steel post that’s set in the ground with concrete. The moss shapes the two ring handles and crossed blades so the piece reads as scissors caught mid-cut through the foliage around it.
This is a custom-built piece on a metal wire armature — one photo shows the bare frame before moss is added. Once mossed, it’s meant to stand in a garden bed or lawn, anchored by its post rather than freestanding.
Because the surface is living sphagnum moss, it needs regular misting to stay green, especially in dry weather, and does best with some shade rather than full sun all day. Check it periodically for drying or damage and adjust watering as needed.
