A full-bodied llama standing square on the grass, neck up and ears forward, the whole form clad in dense green foliage. The frame underneath is metal, sculpted to the animal rather than approximated, and the polyblend foliage is worked over the entire body so the piece holds from every angle, which is what a lawn sculpture has to do, since people walk all the way around it.
This is commission work rather than stock. Each llama begins as a CAD drawing prepared by engineers, so the proportions and the frame are settled before any metal is cut. The metalwork is treated for outdoor life and the finished piece carries a five-year warranty.
Llamas rarely go out alone. Several together read as a herd and hold ground that one sculpture cannot: a hotel forecourt, a resort approach, a vineyard entrance, a long lawn seen from the house. Indoors they work in atriums and large lobbies where there is height to spare.
