Sitting German Shepherd Topiary, Mossed, 36 in

A German Shepherd sitting upright at 36 inches, 44 inches long and 16 inches deep, built by hand in powder-coated wire and packed through with sphagnum moss. The matt black coating is specified to take the weather, so the dog can stand outside on a lawn, a patio or a balcony, and it reads as finished indoors too, where a bare frame would look like a work in progress. It arrives green, so nothing has to be done to it to look right on the day it lands. The moss also works as a growing medium: plant into it and the flowers or foliage you choose come through the coat rather than sitting on top of it. Detail survives the mossing. The muzzle, the pricked ears and the line of the back stay legible under the moss, which is what separates a recognisable dog from a green mass at this size. Wire gauge varies through the piece, heavier for structure, finer for the head and feet. Each one is packed by hand, so no two are identical.
