A real Emerald Green arborvitae, preserved at 50 inches tall, so the cone and the fine needle texture belong to the plant rather than to a mould.
Preserved foliage keeps its colour without water, feeding, daylight or trimming. Nothing gets watered, nothing needs cutting back into shape, and it looks the same in February as it does in July. It is finished for indoor rooms and offices rather than for open weather.
At just over four feet it stands on the floor and holds a corner on its own: one either side of a doorway or a reception desk, at the end of a corridor, on a hotel landing, in a boardroom where a live conifer would need somebody to look after it. The narrow cone takes up very little floor space, which is why it fits entrances and hallways that a spreading plant would crowd.
