Deer Topiary, Mossed, 18–26 in

The head is lifted and turned, the antlers rise bare above the mossed body, and two flat steel plates under the feet keep it upright on grass, gravel or decking. Mossed pieces are made to be planted. The sphagnum is a growing medium as well as a covering, so rooted ivy or creeping fig can be worked into the body and trained across the surface until the deer greens over. Left unplanted it still reads as a finished sculpture, indoors or out. It is manufactured in sections, which keeps shipping costs down and lets you plant each part before putting the deer together. Every one is made by hand, so the dimensions given are close rather than exact and no two come out the same. It ships mossed, as photographed, ready to plant.
