An open wire ball on a stand, built so the globes stack instead of sitting as one fixed piece. That is the useful part: the frame can go up around a plant that is already growing, or be dressed after the fact, and it comes apart again. Run with live boxwood it works as a shaping guide, giving a line to clip to rather than eyeing a sphere by hand, and the clipped plant keeps the round once it has grown into the wire. Run with artificial outdoor boxwood or ivy it is finished the day it is dressed, which is how most people use it in a planter by an entrance, on a terrace or either side of a doorway where nothing is growing. The frame drops into a planter or an urn and the wire stays visible through the foliage, which is part of the look rather than something to hide. It is made to order.
