Juniper Globe Topiary, Preserved, 30–36 in

A preserved juniper sphere, 30 inches across, dense enough that the surface reads as one clipped mass rather than a bundle of stems. It is made from real foliage rather than plastic or silk, so the texture and colour shift across the ball the way they do on a living plant, and preservation holds both without water, light or clipping. At 30 inches this is a floor piece rather than a tabletop one. One globe holds a corner, a hearth or the turn of a stair. A pair either side of a doorway or flanking a fireplace reads as deliberate. It suits rooms where a live plant will not hold up: interiors with no daylight, offices, restaurants, hotel lobbies, shop windows, and event work where the same pieces come out again and again. It also stays exactly 30 inches, with no growth to correct and no shape to keep cutting back, which matters when a sphere has been specified into a tight space.
