A lion mid-stride, listed at 25 x 37 x 12 inches, built as a wire frame and packed solid with sphagnum moss. The mane is worked as its own mass around the head, the tail finishes in a tuft, and a yellow eye is set into the face, which is what keeps the piece from reading as an anonymous four-legged shape from across a lawn.
Mossed forms are the planting version of our topiary work. The moss holds water, so the lion can be planted through and grown over, or left as it comes and misted to hold its colour. It reads at distance, so it earns its place out on a lawn or gravel as much as close up on a terrace or in a conservatory.
Every frame is bent and packed by hand, so the dimensions run approximate and each lion comes out slightly different. We quote the piece and its delivery together, so the full cost is settled before anything is charged.
