Pack the cavity with sphagnum moss, set small ivy or creeping fig at the base, and train the growth up through the wire until the shape furs over.
Nothing about the frame needs watering, so the only living part is whatever you grow on it. The body is built in sections, which keeps the shipping box down to a sensible size and lets you moss and plant each part before it goes together. Every frame is bent by hand, so the measurements run close rather than exact and no two cats come out identical.
