An empty wire Labrador stands 30 inches high, 41 inches long and 10 inches deep, shaped in profile with the head up and the tail carried out behind. It is made and delivered in sections. That keeps the freight cost down, and it means you can set the dog up where you want it rather than maneuvering one rigid piece through a gate, and pack and plant a section at a time.
Bare, it is a black drawing of a dog that holds its line all year and asks nothing of you: no water, no clipping, no season. Packed with sphagnum moss and planted, the same frame becomes the armature for a green dog that fills in as the planting takes hold.
