Moss is packed over a powder-coated wire frame and held with ties that stay visible across the body, so the frame reads through the moss rather than hiding under it, and a single amber eye is set into the head. Two flat steel plates carry the feet, so it stands square on a path, a step, a garden bed or a table without staking. The moss is the growing medium. Plant into it and roots hold in the moss, and the duck greens over as the planting fills in. Left unplanted it stays as it looks in the photograph. Keep the moss damp, and top it up when it thins.
