It keeps growing, so it needs shearing to hold its form and watering to stay alive. It also thickens and improves over years. Live boxwood topiary in every classic form, from 12 inches to 17 feet. The range covers balls and globes, cones, spirals, pom poms, balls on a stem, double and triple balls, and a half-moon. There are two animals as well: a poodle and a sitting bear. Nearly everything is boxwood. The one exception is a 17-foot arborvitae spiral.
Where a listing names the boxwood, it is ‘Green Beauty’, ‘Wintergem’, ‘Rotundifolia’ or a variegated boxwood.
Every plant comes from specialist growers. We select each one for dense foliage, rich color and a consistent shape, then hand-trim it for symmetry before it ships.

How is a live plant packed for a parcel network?
In a custom box built around the plant. The pot is anchored so nothing shifts, protective material holds moisture around the root ball, and the foliage is supported for the ride.
Why do live plants ship early in the week?
So they never sit in a depot over a weekend. If you order late in the week, we wait until Monday to ship. Your plant arrives a day or two later, but it avoids two dark days in a warehouse.

Which plants qualify for parcel shipping?
Most pieces up to about 42 inches from soil line to tip: balls up to 45 inches, cones up to 34 and spirals up to 36, plus a few small shapes. Taller plants cannot travel safely in a box. They need to ride upright and braced, so they go on the freight shelf.
If you are between sizes, choose the size that suits where the plant will live. Delivery is a week of its life, and you will have it for a decade.

How does a large live plant travel?
Upright and braced, and never squeezed. Pieces too tall or wide for parcel carriers go on custom pallets or in reinforced crates. Moisture-retaining material goes around the root ball, and bracing protects the foliage. Then carriers experienced in live horticultural freight take them.
What should I prepare for a freight delivery?
A signer: freight needs someone there for the scheduled window
Unloading: tell us in advance if you need a tailgate lift; the carrier bills it
Inspection before signature: note any damage on every copy of the receipt, keep yours, and call us within 24 hours
Which pieces ship this way?
Spirals from 38 inches, cones from 45 and balls from 48, plus every pom pom, triple ball, tall standard and animal. The 17-foot arborvitae spiral goes this way too. Everything shorter ships UPS Ground in custom boxes. The full journey, costs included, is on delivery & receiving.
Why does riding upright matter so much?
Because a tall plant laid down for three days arrives damaged. Soil shifts off the roots, branches take the load the trunk should carry, and moisture drains to one side of the ball.
So we ship a 9-foot spiral only upright in a braced crate. The root ball stays packed and evenly damp, and the canopy carries no weight at all. That is what the cost of the crate pays for.

How often does live topiary need trimming?
Two or three times through the growing season for a crisp shape, less for a softer one. Our care pages cover it by species.
Will it survive my winter?

Should I choose live or artificial?
Choose live only if someone will maintain it. Live rewards attention and improves with age. Artificial and preserved need no attention at all.
How does a large live plant ship?
By freight, quoted with the piece. Smaller plants go by UPS Ground.
How fast should I unpack?
The same day. The plant has been traveling, so give it a deep drink and normal light. It settles within days.
What does freight delivery involve?
A scheduled window, a pallet or crate, and someone there to sign. Inspect before signing; if there is damage, note it on the receipt and call us within 24 hours.
