Viburnum juddii (x)

Viburnum juddii (x)

Viburnum x juddii is a cross between V. bitchuensis and V. carlesii that was raised by William Judd at the Arnold Arboretum in 19 20. This mid sized, deciduous shrub has rounded, dark green leaves that make it a pleasing backdrop for the garden. An ideal candidate for adding to moss animal topiaries. It is in the spring, when its flowers open in 3 inch spherical cluster, that you want to gather near to it in order to take in their sweet fragrance. The flowers emerge from pink buds and so they have a light pink influence. There is some reddening of the leaves in the fall. Seasonality is Mid to late spring. Measurements are around 4 feet x 5 feet Colors are White flowers Hardiness Zones: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (Photo Credit David Rodal)
