Fuchsia regia subsp. reitzii

Fuchsia regia subsp. reitzii

Fuchsia regia subsp. reitzii

Fuchsia regia forms are generally treated as climbers or sprawlers that take advantage of nearby trees and structures to clamber toward the sun. This particular subspecies was discovered and described by P.E. Berry as recently as 1989. An ideal candidate for adding to moss animal topiaries. It is not so large as the other form of F. regia we grow. And its flowers, though similar, have a neon quality to them. This form was given to us by the late Salli Dahl. It would make a fine subject tied onto a trellis or fence. Seasonality is August to November. Measurements are around 1 to 2 feet Colors are Red and Purple flowers Hardiness Zones: 8, 9
